Lana and Nell at Fire Ridge

Lana is one of the down-to-earth persons that you will ever met. Not only she is cheerful and beautiful, she always has a kind word to say to you. You may have a horrible run but she will point out the good part of your run and then your run wasn't so bad after all. She is very supportive of upcoming handlers and quite a top hand herself. We all would vote for her!

Nell was not too keen on getting the photo taken....

Or being on the barrel for that matter!

But Nell was quick to pose on the ground.
Look how crisp her brown coloring is on her legs.

and the intense eyes!

Imp Kuro - FOR SALE

I have decided to sell Kuro. I am overloaded with dogs right now and it was a toss up between Roo and Kuro. Roo and I have connected quite well recently so Kuro got the short straw. I really have enjoyed running Roo and especially on how hard he tried for me at the Double Lift, so he is the golden boy.

Scott and Kuro.

Kuro is a son of Angie Driscoll’s Jamie. Jamie was trained and run by Bobby Dalziel before he went to Angie. He has had tons of success (see here) and is one of the top trial dog in the UK. Kuro’s dam was a success Nursery dog and now a Open dog.

Kuro is very amenable and has a kind heart and wants to please. He is good natured and loves life. I got him at about 11 weeks old from Angie who scoured Scotland for the right pup for me. He grew up with us and then went to Scott Glen for his formal training.

 Kuro at the Finals.

He ran very successfully for Scott, winning one day or Nursery at the Bluegrass. He also did well in obtaining his Nursery legs and placing well in trial to qualify for the Finals. He placed 24th in the 2010 USBCHA National Sheepdog Finals in the Nursery class with Scott. After the Finals, he ran in PN and he got 5th at EID. He has a good track record.

He is not for the weak or soft handler but requites a handler that can handle a pushy dog. He does have a lot of heart and is very biddable which make him easier to handle. He is well rounded and has had lots of trial experience.

Scott and Kuro at the Finals.

He is available to the right home where he can be one of the main dogs. He is fine with cats, poultry and horses. He has been a housedog and crates and kennels well. He has a willing personality and wants to please.

Kuro on the fetch.

He is ready to run in a PN class with the right handler. My email is tess at deltabluez.com.

Birds Buds

While on my eleven day vacation in Oregon, I spotted these beautiful birds. Does anyone know they are? They were very curious and hung out near me. There was about ten or so and were quite stunning, flying about and checking us out.

I am not too sure what these birds were doing but they would fly and hover in one spot for a long time. There was some some serious wind action during the day and they would dart off to hover for a few minutes and then sit on a perch. They were not hunting for insects but just hovering in the air. It was quite nice to see this. I tried to take a bunch more of photos but it was hard as most of them came out blurry. (Click on the pixs to see a larger view)

More hovering.

They were a stunning shade of blue.

Perched on the fence.

I think this was the female. She would dart to the ground and hop about and then fly off.
This guy stayed quite close to me and kept a close eye on me.

I really think he wanted my Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Or perhaps, he was enjoying this view.

Or maybe this view. He had good taste.

A Day in the Sun

We spent a few days in central Oregon, just hanging out before we went to Fire Ridge. It was nice to not have TV, newspaper or radio but just plain old down time. It was good for the soul and it refreshed my mind. The dogs enjoyed just hanging out and relaxing. (click on the pixs to make them bigger)

A view of an old barn.

Sitting around. Roo and Nan.

Nan- glowing in the sun.

Look how happy she is here.

Time for a nap.

 Roo working on his tan.

He is contented to sunbath.

Looking over the valley.

It was a beautiful sunny day. I took a nap on a mountain, with the sun on my face, my dogs at my side, birds chirping in the background, while watching the clouds slowly drift by and realizing that life is wonderful.

A few more signs

I say"STOP!"

This could be interesting.

As opposed to round red fruit.

With you in it or not.

Better that Coffin road.

And this is a Sign.

And they will drink your beer!

..and you stand at the edge of the cliff...
